Several notable buildings disappeared from Dayton’s landscape in 2025.
In Episode 2 of the Dayton Vistas Podcast, I cover three structures that are different in almost every way, but each represents a piece of how Dayton grew and changed over time.
They weren’t signature landmarks on the scale of the Dayton Arcade or Union Station, yet buildings like these often form the fabric that gives a city its identity.
On that note, I also reflect on the value of historic preservation, touching on the role that historic buildings play in community identity and how we experience the world around us, as well as their more tangible benefits as well.
