Huffman Manufacturing Company
The Huffman Manufacturing Company was a prominent industrial firm in Dayton that still lives on today as Huffy Bicycles.
It emerged out of the Davis Sewing Machine Co, which came to Dayton in 1889 and was led by George P. Huffman. In 1892 it began producing bicycles as well, which eventually took over the company's output and sewing machines were phased out.
Its original factory site at Davis and Linden Avenues in East Dayton remains and provides rental space for a variety of artists and other creative entrepreneurs.
